Electric Dirty Sub Water Pump
The HYSP850D is a powerful electric dirty water submersible water pump from Hyundai. Manufactured from tough, durable and corrosion proof stainless steel the HYSP850D is ideal for a wide range of dirty water pumping applications.
Powered by a 850W / 230v electric motor the HYSP850D has a pumping capacity of 17500 litres per hour. With a maximum submersion depth of 7m and a maximum delivery height of 10m, the HYSP850D has an outlet hose size of 25mm (1”) internal diameter and 32mm (1 ¼”) threaded bsp outlet external diameter.
Automatic Float Switch
Fitted with an automatic float switch for water level control the HYSP850D has a low consumption electric motor with overload protection. Perfect for draining hot tubs, pools, flooded areas and ponds. The float switch will turn the pump off when the water reaches a predetermined level to avoid damage to the pump.
Ideal for irrigating gardens as well as pumping contaminated or muddy water from wells, tanks, cellars or basins. The HYSP850D can pump water up to a temperature of 35 °C and handle debris and particles up to 35mm.
10m Power Cable
Fitted with a 10m power cable gives the HYSP850D greater flexibility and longer distance away from the power source, the moulded carry handle increases portability.
It is recommended that an RCD is always used with a submersible pump as should be the case whenever electrical products are used near water.

I bought this to shift water from a sandbanked part of a river bank and to replace an existing pump. After a lot of online searches I went with the HYSP850D because of the price, specs and build quality. It's not cheap but I figured it was at least as competitive as the nearest competitor, which was not a brand that I recognised. The pump arrived quickly and was well packaged. The pump pretty much works straight out of the box apart from it really does need an extra piece of hose for the outlet. The outlet is not standard garden hose size and comes with no garden hose fittings so you will need a min 1 inch hose for the outlet if you want to pump the water away. I would suggest the corrugated hoses for ponds would be ideal. I had an old piece of hose in the garage otherwise that would have been a trip to the garden centre. That is the only negative I can find with the pump. The pump itself is solid. Excellent build quality and looks fantastic in stainless steel. Performance wise, it shifted huge qualities of water with little effort which I was really happy with. The pump operates quietly which is a bonus. It had no problems shifting dirty water off the river bank when placed inside a bucket with drainage holes in it. I didn't drop it straight into the water as the water was silty and had a few oversized pebbles in it. The pump is too nice to be experimenting with! Overall really happy with this pump. It is pricey to start with but it is also a lot of value for the money and comes with a 3yr guarantee from a brand that I trust.
I had looked around at various submersible pumps to put into a water butt with sufficient power to give a descent head of water through 30m of garden hose. I fitted a 33.3mm/1" threaded tap connector to easily connect to a hose connector and the set up does the job really well. It feels well made and at a good price.
