According to the National Federation of Chimney Sweeps, wood burner sales have increased by up to 40% over the last few years. This has naturally led to an increase in demand for logs to fuel them and in turn resulted in an emerging gap in the market for electric log splitters. Electric log splitters are used to make cutting logs down to a manageable size much quicker and easier than the use of axes and hatchets.
Electric log splitters are also much safer than axes - each log splitter in Hyundai's range requires both hands for operation to ensure that they are away from the powerful cutting pressure of these machines.
Hyundai has introduced log splitters to the UK and Ireland market for the first time this year. There are 3 splitters available in the range with the following specifications:
- Hyundai HYLS4000H - Horizontal Log Splitter. 1500w electric motor. Produces 4 Tonnes of pressure to split logs up to 250mm in diameter x 520mm in length
- Hyundai HYLS7000H - Horizontal Log Splitter. 2200w electric motor. Produces 7 Tonnes of pressure to split logs up to 320mm in diameter x 520mm in length
- Hyundai HYLS7000V - Vertical Log Splitter. 3000w electric motor. Produces 7 Tonnes of pressure to split logs up to 300mm in diameter x 1050mm in length
