Powerful Compact Air Compressor

The HY27550 is a powerful yet compact 1500w oil free low noise, often known as a ‘silent’ air compressor from Hyundai. Designed for DIY and trade applications the HY27550 silenced oil free air compressor is ideal for spray-painting, blowing away dirt and dust, nailing, inflating tyres or operating air tools.

Weighing 37kg the HY27550 air compressor is lighter than your conventional piston type air compressor and is completely oil free, so there is no risk of oil contamination in the air supply. The HY27550 features 2 large wheels and 2 robust rubber mounted feet and a front handle for easy maneuverability.

Ideal For Home Workshop

Powered by twin 750w motors giving a combined power of 1500w directly connected to the oil less pumps mounted on anti-vibration rubber mounts, makes it ideal for the home workshop or garage use where conventional residential power sockets are available.

Maintenance Free

This maintenance free compressor uses oil free diaphragm pumps to produce a clean air supply and considerably reduce noise compared to conventional piston compressors.

50 Litre Tank

With a 50 litre tank capacity this compressor provides an air displacement of 11CFM/ 300 litres per minute and a maximum pressure of 7 bar/ 100psi.

Automatic Stop Start

The pressure control system automatically stops and starts the motor to maintain the pressure in the air tank and comes with a twin gauge air pressure regulator.

Euro Quick Release

Fitted with Euro quick release connectors this compressor is fitted with a standard 13A UK Plug.

Compressor Care

Pressure safety valves on Hyundai air compressors have been updated in compliance with the latest CE certification standards. The pressure release pull ring has been removed from the safety valve to prevent it from being misused to drain the air from the compressor tank, causing excessive wear to the valve. Air and moisture should always be released using the drain valve located on the bottom of the tank.

Covered by Hyundai 2 year standard warranty.

Great little compressor, using it for midi spraying with small CFM gun and general tools. So much quieter than my old direct drive on, very happy.

    Great silent compressor

Bought this to replace an old compressor because it was so loud I couldn't even use it. After powering this up i was shocked at just how quiet it is, air coming out of a blower gun at 100psi is louder than the compressor running, absolutely fantastic.

Very quiet, powerful, well made compressor

Surprisingly quiet, which will help if I forget to turn it off and it starts up in the small hours. It is pretty powerful - buzzed off the wheel nuts my previous compressor struggled with. Very well made and the dual compressor system is elegant. Competitively priced - so all good really!

    Queit enough for residential use

I bought this to replace a noisy 3hp 50l, I went from not using my compressor due to the sheer noise throughout the house and the racket in my garage to happily turning it on just to blow the dust off of things i could easily wipe. The packaging is fantastic, top and bottom are ply and the sides are thick reinforced cardboard, took me a good five minutes to pull it apart! The noise level is such that i dont need to raise my voice and it cant be heard outside of the garage at all which is all i can ask for. I out it under a workbench and it muffled it further so its barely noticable over the various hums from other equipment in my garage. The wheels are a bit useless, i may have moutned them wrong but the instructions were useless and i couldnt see a better way, thankfully i dont plan to move it but its definitely better than no wheels. The air filter is a nice touch, but drops the dynamic pressure to around 35psi when set with a static pressure of 90, i swapped it for a cheap one on amazon for around £15 and now my dynamic pressure is about 85. I recommend you either remove or replace it if you need more oomph for your tools. Recharge time is good and fill time is good, recharging from cut in to cut out is about 40s which is perfectly fine and im not missing the extra power from my 3hp. The cfm numbers on the site are a bit of an exaggeration, however id gladly point out this is commonplace and it seems to be inline with my 2hp compressor that quotes the same from machinemart. Overall, it would be great if the manufacturer improved the wheels and filter, but its nice they included either so i cant complain and the actual compressor itself is great.

    Great. Pleased I upgraded

Posted by bremhillbob on 15th Apr 2021

I'm a long time DIYer and have owned a 25ltr compressor for around 20 years. It started getting less reliable so I looked around for an alternative. The 'silent' range caught my eye and I nearly went for a like for like replacement - in the end I upgraded to the 50Ltr model. WOW ... SO impressed. It fills in about the same time my old 25 ltr took it is SO quiet (for a compressor). I'd say something similar to a modern washing machine. Open the box, screw on the wheels, the feet and the air filters and it was all set to go - took 10 minutes. Can't really comment on the capacity as I've only used for dusting so far but seems a LOT more capable than my old Clarke Warrior and at about half the noise level. Definitely pleased with the purchase. Arrived about 12 hours after purchase .... amazing.

Very impressive, especially for the price.

Posted by Alex, Sussex on 12th Apr 2021

So far I am very impressed. I settled on this because of the price vs. the spec that I wanted. The UK based parts support is really what sealed the deal. One thing to note. It states an air displacement of 11 cfm. I have seen a lot of reviews online that quote this as Air flow. So when compared to other compressors of an equivalent spec; it looks like this well out preforms the average of say 5-7 cfm. If you look at the spec here, air flow is quoted as 6 cfm- this is the number you are interested in, not displacement. That's just important to note to avoid an expensive mistake. For a quiet compressor, 6 cfm is still impressive, in older "silent compressors" 3 cfm was the norm. TNT delivery was great. I can't believe I got free next day delivery of such a bulky item, and it arrived by 0800! The driver left the pallet/box in the drive way and I took it from there. That brings me on to the packaging, very impressed yet again, best box I have every got with something like this. It's a mix of wood and cardboard, it has a wooden pallet bottom, thick card sides and a plywood top. Didn't look like it had been badly handled either. The packing is very secure, I think if the box is intact, the contents will be fine also. Assembly was very easy. Bolt on the wheels (2x 17mm spanners/socket required) and feet (14mm af nut), then screw on the air filters and straw things and that's it, you're good to go. Compressor comes with two euro style female (I hope I can still say that lol) outlets pre installed and also comes with two male euro style hose tails if you need them, nice touch. Firing it up, I must say, it's much quieter than I expected. I have been in loud compressor rooms, had an ear-splitting Sip airmate, have a quiet airbrush compressor. I turned this on in the kitchen and was prepared to slap the off switch if it was too loud, but instead I was taken aback by how inoffensive it was. It is literally not much louder than my 40db airbrush compressor, but less treble more bass. This compressor transmits barely any vibration. I have not been able to put it to any heavy use before writing this, but having worked with compressors a lot in the past, I see nothing at all that would cause me concern. And if anything does happen, I have my two year warranty and UK parts support to put to the test! I honestly do not know how they managed to deliver this compressor at this price point, it even seems to have been assembled with care. I hope this review was useful to someone thinking of buying this, I certainly wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for the home workshop.

Who knew a home compressor could be this quiet. Quick delivery and very well packaged.
