The Hyundai HYSC225X is a petrol scarifier that cuts through this layer, removing dead material and opening up the soil surface for your lawn to breathe again.

The 223cc engine drives cutting blades spanning 44cm / 17". Recoil start gets the engine running quickly, and a 45L collection bag gathers the debris as you work. With 3.6L of fuel on board, you can tackle the whole lawn in a single session without stopping to refuel.

Thatch is a layer of dead grass, roots, and debris that builds up between the soil and the green growth above. Too much thatch prevents water and nutrients from reaching the roots. The HYSC225X cuts through it and collects the debris, giving your lawn room to recover.

Precision Depth Control

Six cutting positions let you set the working height from -15mm to +12mm. Start shallow for a light maintenance pass, or go deeper to tackle heavy thatch buildup. A central height adjuster sets the depth across the full width in one movement. Although not technically self propelled, the process of scarifying pulls the machine forward so very little effort is needed to propel the scarifier forward. The scarifier also comes with a fixed blade cutter for scarifying and a spring rake cutter for moss removal.

Extended Runtime

The 3.6L fuel tank gives you a long working window between refuels. Combined with a 45L collection bag that doesn't need emptying every few passes, you can work through the whole lawn without unnecessary interruptions.
