We are proud to announce that we are supporting several up-and-coming British rally drivers this year in our brand new Hyundai Power Products Motorsport Academy 2022.
Motorsports, especially in the form of rallying, have always been a passion of Roland Llewellin, our Managing Director, especially since his successes in the UK’s National Forest Rallying Series. Roland also currently competes at a national level in the Welsh / BTRDA Rally Championships.
This, alongside Hyundai Power Products’ considerable business growth over the last five years, has fuelled the company’s decision to create this Motorsport Academy, in which we will be supporting a selection of talented drivers to reach the highest levels of this adrenaline-fuelled sport.
For every rally our drivers enter, we also plant 5,000 trees as part of the Hyundai Power Products Tree Planting Scheme.
James Williams – British Rally Championship
James Williams, who is currently an employee of Hyundai Power Products, is the head of our brand new Hyundai Power Products Rally Team and is competing in the 2022 British Rally Championship.
23-year-old James, along with his experienced co-driver Dai Roberts, are in their first season together taking part in the top-flight of Britain’s premier rally championship using the four-wheel-drive, turbocharged Hyundai i20 R5.
We are also supporting these talented drivers in the following championships:
Cai Mainwaring - BTRDA Rallycross Championship
Harri Reynolds - Ginetta Juniors Championship
James Roots - Super One Bambino Karting Championship
We are proud to give our support to James Roots, a 6-year-old young karting star with Perthes disease, by supplying him and his team with a HY3200SEI generator and HY7524 air compressor for his karting events. His dream is to compete at a national level in kart racing across the UK.
Competing in their respective motorsport classes, we’re looking forward to seeing how our drivers perform in their upcoming rallies. Click below to view the team's latest updates.
