Plant a Tree for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee!
Whether you’re planning a garden party or street party this year to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, or are planning to simply relax and enjoy the extra bank holiday, have you considered also doing something lasting to celebrate the occasion?
The jubilee this year coincides with World Environment Day. With over 150 countries participating, this year is themed around ‘Only One Earth’ – looking at what we can do on a global scale to celebrate and protect our planet, including reducing plastic pollution and reducing biodiversity loss.
It seems especially fitting that as part of the jubilee celebrations, a new tree-planting initiative has been created by the Queen’s Green Canopy in honour of her legacy.
Here at Hyundai Power Products, we also have our own tree-planting initiative, which has been successfully up and running since March 2020, where we plant one tree for every product we sell and 5,000 trees for any rallies the Hyundai Power Products Rally Team enter at our planting sites in Honduras, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, and Nicaragua.
Many parts of our planet are experiencing extreme deforestation, which creates substantial economic problems for some of our world's most disadvantaged communities.
The destruction of healthy forest systems causes so many different problems both for people and for the environment; trees provide a habitat for animals, purify water sources, control flooding and erosion and help to replenish the soil with nutrients needed for farming.
Not only this, planting trees can help reduce climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, releasing oxygen into the atmosphere, and can also help to create biodiverse environments.
To date, thanks to our incredible customers, we have planted an impressive 296,623 trees since March 2020! We have also provided 3,069 workdays for those working at our planting sites.
We are also doing our bit to fight climate change by covering the roof of our headquarters in solar panels for our own self-sufficient electricity use, using biomass boilers for heating our offices and warehouse, and using the latest Hyundai electric vehicles as company cars. We also have electric car charging points at our headquarters.
We also have a dedicated team of in-house experts who restore customer returns to sell on as graded products, which not only saves these products from being sent to landfills but also passes on savings back to our customers.
Why not choose a Hyundai Power Product for your next garden, home, or business purchase and let us plant a tree in your name?
